40 Days

The past few winters have been extremely challenging for me. I think that seasonal depression is common for everybody, but I've never really noticed it in myself until 2016, and it got worse in 2017. So this year... I decided to sign up for a 40 day Radiant Health workshop, running from November 23-Jan 1. This is something I've never done before.

Generally, it seems as though people only think to buy material and physical things, and think that it's more worth it to buy fabricated items rather than something you can't hold in your own hand. I'm coming to realize how sad it actually is to think that using money to invest in your mental health isn't worth it just because you can't hold it. So, this year, I invested in my mental health, because surely we all could benefit from a little gentle guidance. Health IS wealth.

The online workshop I chose to sign up for is facilitated by a dear trusted friend of mine, Emily Doyle, and her business is called Isle Rose Apothecary, I encourage you to look her up as she has an assortment of products and does other workshops throughout the year as well. Her sister, Katlin Doyle, is the owner of Nurturing Essence Raw Chocolate, and I encourage you to give her a search too.

I signed up for this workshop in hopes of learning to forgive myself easier and love myself deeper over the next 40 days. To better embrace my sometimes messy, creative ways. To learn how to better listen to my body- my sacred temple. To learn what kind of self discipline is most effective for me and my growth (regarding self-talk to do with setting my boundaries with other people, exercise and movement medicine, diet and saying no to foods I probably shouldn't consume, finding the time and energy to make good foods, finding more time for writing/ journaling/ self reflection, tuning into my body and allowing myself to deeply feel my own company and learn to feel whole, energized, purposeful, loved, adored, beautiful, safe, patient and nurtured being at home in this body). To learn how to strengthen my confidence and develop a touch/aura that's more gentle and tender, soft and slow, patient and kind. Something to help calm the waves of stresses, sadness, or lack of motivation that may arise.

What are you doing to help balance your mental health? What works for you? What are your goals going into 2019? Feel free to reach out in an e-mail or message on one of my social media accounts. I'd be super happy to chat more about these subjects with you, or answer any questions.
